Hi,

One of my developers is setting up a system dsn to access sql server 2000 database. When setting "the change the default database ", the drop down list is not populating the user [ application ] databases.

The user has db_owner priviledges to the database.

The drop down list is showing all the system databases though.

Any help is much appreciated.

regards

yes ofcourse. Inorder for odbc to populate the database list it runs a query

select name from master..sysdatabases where has_dbaccess(name) = 1

The results of this query are: SqlDumpExceptionHandler: Process 60 generated fatal exception error c0000005... Exception_Access violation. SQL Server is terminating this process.

Identified the database that is causing the exception to occur and have offlined it. ODBC populates all user databases now.

Now I am NOT sure what is causing that particular database to create this exception. Have run dbcc checkdb and no errors have been reported.

Thanks

SP_HELPSORT
Latin1-General, case-insensitive, accent-sensitive, kanatype-insensitive, width-insensitive for Unicode Data, SQL Server Sort Order 52 on Code Page 1252 for non-Unicode Data
SELECT SERVERPROPERTY('Collation') AS 'Server Level Collation' RETURNS: SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS
SELECT DATABASEPROPERTYEX('MASTER', 'Collation') AS 'Database Level Collation' RETURNS: SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS
SELECT DATABASEPROPERTYEX('Userdb', 'Collation') AS 'Database Level Collation' RETURNS: SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS

So not much luck.
