I am running SQL 2000 STD on 2 separate win2003 servers.

I created a local backup of a database on one of the servers. I created a network share
to the backup folder and gave the logon acct and the MSSQL Service acct full access to it.

On the other server I mapped a drive to the backup on the original server and was able to see it in windows explorer.
BTW, both servers use the same service and logon accounts.

Then I started enterprise manager and tried to restore a database using the mapped drive.

I used Device as the restore option and when I clicked on the button that shows the drives I can restore from, the mapped drive did not show up. Frustrating...
I've done this task using a win2003 server as the source and a win2k server as the destination.
I wonder why it isn't working between two win2003 machines. Can anyone help?

That was correct. Haven't had to set up this type of a restore for a while. Rust never sleeps.
