I have a dimension that I am trying to build from a table that has 1.35 million rows.

Ideally, I would like to have three levels, (Line of Business, Item Name, Item Name with Unique Identifier). Level 2 may be tire, and level 3 may be tire-A, for example.

The issue is that level 2 always is coming up with more than 64,000 children. I have tried automatic grouping with little success. Any suggestions?

Thank you

You have to introduce a level above it.

If there is no natural way of grouping, you can use arbitrary classification such as odd-even.
