Hi,

I am trying to link an excel file ( in a mapped drive) to the sql server and use the schedule package to automatically update it on a daily basis. But looks like it the scheduled package is not able to run because the excel file is on a mapped drive.

Can anyone advice on what should I do.

Thanks

Leo

Might be a permissions issue. Make sure SQL Server Agent is set up with an account with sufficient permissions. Or, move the Excel file to the SQL Server itself.

Hi BB,

I agree with you. But I am not sure how can I set permission on my local package. The local package consists of source data as the external excel file and destination is the sql server database. Nowhere in package am I adviced to enter my username and pwd (set permission) to access the mapped drive.

As you may have known by now, I am a novice in SQL server, so any help may be a great one for me.

Thanks again

Leo
