Hello All,

When I play back a trace that I recorded off production to test that commands have been truncated and most of the statements fail. I really need to test something out and presently I have no way to do it. Does anyone know how to change this behavior in SQL Profiler. I did do a search on the site and on google for SQL Profiler Text Truncate and variations thereof but didn't find anything. I realize this is probably a common problem but I couldn't find the thread I need.

Regards,
Bryan

Hello All,

Ok, I am confused, I saved it to a file and it looks like the commands are not being truncated but yet I am getting this:

[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Communication link failure (State 08S01) (Code 0)
When I play back on my test machine. What is the deal?? I am really fustrated with this. I just want to record a trace in production and play it back on the same database schema etc,, but in test. This shouldn't be so complicated.

Please help,
Bryan

Never mind, just for prosperity, I filtered LoginName Like aUser
and I filtered Text NOT Like exec sp_reset_connection and then it worked.
