The IT guys bought me a nice new twin zenon dual core 3.0ghz server with SQL2K5 to replace my twin pentium 733 server with SQL 7.0. I just disconnected the databse, copied it, moved it to the new server and reconnected it.

It transferered the login's, tables, views, stored procedures etc. perfectly. It did not copy the DTS packages or the Jobs.

How do I go about getting these items over here? Can I? Do I have to recreate them? And where is DTS anyway?

Thanks!

Use the SSIS in SQL2005. The jobs and DTS in SQL 7/2000 are in the MSDB database. However, there are structural differences between versions. Use the tool instead.

You could use the SQL Server 2005 Feature Pack.

The newest version makes it possible to run and even edit old DTS packages.
