We are about to begin an upgrade on one of our servers with several databases from SQL 2000 Std Edition to SQL 2000 Enterprise Edition. I have not done this before. I would think there is a direct upgrade from one to the other, but since I have not done it before, I am not sure. Can someone tell me if this will be just an upgrade install, or if not, can you show me a link to the procedure (or give the procedure if you have the time)?

Thank you,

Steve H.

You can pop in the Enterprise Edition CD and run setup. It will detect that you are upgrading from standard to enterprise edition.

For detail search for "Upgrading an Existing Installation of SQL Server" in books online.

To be safe, backup all your databases.
